John Haswell House is the base for Gateshead Voluntary Organisations Council and we have lots of projects and activities within the building, we also rent office space to external organisations. This can be a real advantage to smaller organisations who may otherwise find themselves a little isolated or based in an area they feel has security issues. A fully accessible 215 sq ft ground floor office and two 125 sq ft second floor offices are available now. These offices, which have been recently decorated, can be rented individually or as part of a package. As well as the office space you will be able to book meeting/training rooms (our large rooms have hearing loop systems fitted), have the use of the kitchen facilities, your office will be regularly cleaned and our friendly reception staff will greet your visitors, all for no extra charge. You can also use our photo copying, duplication, fax and postal service at very competitive rates. The building is secure, accessible and open Monday to Friday from 8.45am until 4.45pm for visitors and 7.30am until 6.45pm for staff. For those organisations just starting out we can loan you some basic office furniture (IT equipment not included) to get you going this again is at no extra cost. Many voluntary and community organisations enter into a financial relationship with Government to deliver outcomes on its behalf. It is important that the financial relationship is constructed in such a way that allows outcomes to be maximised. The Compact aims to influence behaviour in both the voluntary and community sector and Government. The Code does this through setting a framework for the financial relationship; and setting out undertakings for both sides, based on what each side can expect from the other.
