The Volunteer Centre Gateshead promotes volunteering across Gateshead. Whether you are an individual looking to volunteer or an organisation looking for volunteers, we are here to help.

Volunteer Centre Gateshead is part of a national network of organisations that are working to encourage people from all sections of the community to get involved in volunteering. We are committed to working pro-actively to ensure that all those who wish to volunteer are actively encouraged and enabled to do so.

We offer a brokerage service to match individuals up with volunteering opportunities. We can offer you a confidential one to one interview where we will discuss your motivations, interests and availability to then match you up with a volunteering opportunity. We can support and advise any person who would like to volunteer in Gateshead.

We also post new opportunities on the national website www.do-it.org. This is a great place to find out more information about opportunities in your local area.

Our other function is to support volunteer involving organisations from the voluntary, community or statutory sectors. Organisations can advertise their opportunities with us, access information and training on volunteer recruitment and management and can network with other volunteer co-ordinators. We are committed to providing equality of opportunity in access to our services, membership, and publications.

Volunteer involving organisations are encouraged to make an appointment to visit the Volunteer Centre for advice and information about all aspects of involving volunteers. We also encourage you to register your volunteering opportunities with us so we can support you to recruit volunteers. This service is free of charge.
