Apply for free GVOC membership

There are two types of membership - full and affiliate, both of which are free.

Full membership entitles you to:

• Vote at GVOC’s Annual General Meeting
• Nominate members to the Board of Trustees
• Propose motions for GVOC’s AGM
• Access GVOC’s printing facilities
• Receive regular information mailings
• Access GVOC’s information and resource library
• In exceptional circumstances and only with prior approval on a case by case basis the use of GVOC’s charity number for fundraising activities.
  

Guidelines for full membership
Applicants should:

• be based in or working with residents of Gateshead.  A North East wide organisation must provide evidence of regular work in Gateshead.

• be a voluntary organisation or community group, a not-for-profit group or a registered charity, and have clearly defined aim(s), purpose or mission statement.

• not be engaged in any activity that would conflict with GVOC’s constitution, for example party political, promoting illegal activities or infringing on human rights.

• have either a set of rules or constitution, if the group has funds a bank account in the name of the group, keep financial records and have a committee or persons responsible.
• complete a GVOC questionnaire and provide a contact name and address and details of the organisation’s activities and aims and objectives and agree to regularly update these details.

• Nominate the person responsible to vote at GVOC’s AGM/SGM on behalf of the group.

Guidelines for affiliate membership

Applicants could be:

• individuals, enterprise organisations or statutory authorities with an interest in the voluntary sector of Gateshead.

• starting up voluntary organisations who do not fulfil all of the guidelines for full membership, but may at any specific time, apply for full membership.

Statutory Organisations: £3.50 + p&p

List of Members' names and addresses on labels: £20.00
