Community Accountancy Project (CAP)

This has been a busy year and services being delivered by the Community Accountancy Project are:

• Financial Health Checks.

• Help with financial systems, particularly for new organisations, or one that has grown quickly in size, and needs a robust financial system to reflect this.

• Budgeting/cash-flows – usually needed in the first instance for a funding bid.

• Monitoring of the above.

• Financial training in conjunction with the Capacity Building project.

• Inland Revenue queries and Payroll in conjunction with IT Officer, Colin Bell.

• Computerised accounts.

• Information Sheets – both hard copy and via the website.

• Reporting and returns for outside organisations such as the Charity Commission and HM Revenue and Customs.

• Year end accounts and Independent Examinations.

Some of the services offered will have a charge (we try to keep this as low as possible), and these are as follows:

Provision of book-keeping services if required

Independent Examination of Accounts

Accredited Training

We hope to continue supporting groups, both old and new, and will be looking in particular at the impact the new Fraud and Anti Money Laundering regulations will have on the sector, along with changes to the Charities Act and Companies Act and the new Charitable Incorporated Organisations.

If you have any particular requirements or ideas about what you would like to see provided please contact me.
