Gateshead Community Network
Is based
in GVOC and has been established for 7 years. The GCN staff
team work to support community organisations and individuals involvement in the
Network and the Gateshead Strategic Partnership. GCN have volunteers
who sit on the newly formed Local Area Agreements themed blocks;
which are Children & Young People, Safer Stronger Communities
and Culture, Adult Social Care and Health, and Economy, Skills,
Housing and Transport. The volunteers also attend the Area Forums which are council meetings held in different venues across the borough. (For further information on the forums please give us a call or go to the Area Forum page on our website).
We do this by providing up to date information, co-ordination of Network and Steering Group meetings and support for the representatives who are all volunteers.
We also support and administer the Small Grants Fund; the second round of which is now taking place. If your organisation is in need of re-conditioned IT equipment ie monitor, hard drive, keyboard, mouse or printer or the full package, please complete the application form and send it back to us. Your application will then go to our steering group for approval and a letter confirming the decision sent out to you soon after. So, what are you waiting for ....

pupils from schools across the borough came together to look at
how their views can be given to the decision makers. The Junior
Network is now set up and is hosted by both Colegate Primary and Bill
